10 AbanWhat date is it in Iran today?
The date at the top of this page is written on the server in Tehran time and does not depend on your device's clock; at midnight in Tehran it changes by itself. Three calendars are shown because all three are in use in Iran: the Jalali (Solar Hijri) calendar for daily life and government, the Hijri calendar for religious occasions and holidays, and the Gregorian calendar for dealing with the rest of the world.
What is today's Jalali date?
The first line of the page: the weekday, the day, the month and the Solar Hijri year. The numeric form (year/month/day) sits beside it for forms and letters.
What is today's Gregorian date?
The Gregorian row gives the date with its month name and in ISO order (year-month-day). To convert any other date, the date converter does the same for a day of your choosing.
Where does the Hijri date come from?
The Hijri date follows the Umm al-Qura calendar, the official calendar of Saudi Arabia and the one most software uses. Iran's official calendar is announced on sighting the new moon and sometimes differs by a day; for religious occasions the official announcement is the authority.
Is today a public holiday in Iran?
If it is, the occasion in the "Today's occasions" card carries a "Holiday" badge. Solar occasions come from the country's list of official holidays; lunar ones from the same Umm al-Qura calendar.
How many days to Nowruz?
Under the date, the page counts the days to the first of Farvardin of the coming year. The number drops by one every midnight and reads "Today is Nowruz" on the day.
